Golf Update

Golf Section

Since the AGM, the winners of the two internal competitions are now known.

In September, Alistair Anderson won the Baton Trophy when the competition was played at Blairgowrie.  The Cairncross Tankard was won by Charlie Gallagher in a closely fought game against Alan Connacher.

Apart from the RAF Leuchars fixture, next years programme is finalised.  I would draw to your attention the Centenary match against the Edinburgh Society.  This match will be played over Royal Burgess on Wednesday 19th June.  To celebrate, this fixture will be increased to sixteen a side, followed by a black tie dinner with a speaker.  Unfortunately, Royal Burgess could not accommodate us on a Friday around June or July.  Mindful of those who work, the evening will not go beyond 11pm.  It is hoped that the Moderator and any retired golfers will join us in the evening.

There are two other changes next season.  At our home matches, lunch will replace the post match meal with only drinks or coffee provided after the match.

The second change is that the RPGS match will be played at Blairgowrie.

The golf section will be notified in early January and invited to submit their availability to compete in the matches and knock out.

The Secretary omitted to bring the trophies and apologised.
